The Portuguese multiplier event, organised by RightChallenge in Vila Nova de Gaia on Thursday, May 23, 2024, was a great success in raising awareness about green empowerment for older generations. Twenty adult educators, psychologists, and other related professionals had the opportunity to learn about the Adults for Future materials and participate in an exciting upcycling workshop.

In collaboration with GAIURB and Escola Oficina the event was held in the hub INOVAGAIA, who are always open to get to know innovative projects and initiatives. The event kicked off with a warm welcome, presenting the final results of the project Adults for Future.

From the online course and digital platform to the framework, guidelines for adult education centers, and best practice videos, the event offered a wealth of content for discussion. Participants particularly enjoyed the numerous practical ideas and activities, including course activities for older adults, podcast and film ideas that broaden environmental topics, and more sustainable living practices. The practical part of the event was an upcycling workshop where various materials were distributed, and participants were guided on how to create new items from recycled materials. With extensive experience in recycling and reusing materials as textile, paper or other waste, Escola Oficina promotes environmental sustainability, social integration, and employment opportunities, aligning perfectly with the objectives of the Adults for Future project.
